luka di kaki (part 2)

ini die luka aku yang berbalut..

sebelum nih..everyday aku kene g surgery unit at attavar to change dressings..i went there for about maybe 8 times..the "dr besar" even did a procedure on my leg to remove the necrotic tissue which he said was quite deep since it had invaded the subcutaneous tissue..

one mistake and now i've permanently scarred my leg..after going to the hospital daily..one day sir said that my wound has started to heal..this is a wound which is healing by secondary intention...so only god knows when it will heal..sorry haz..know ur reading this and probably wondering why all those med terms?? just trying to explain..hope u understand...


thats the wound i've been writing about..at that stage it was starting to heal..
now to answer haz's curiosity about what drs do when they get sick..heal themselves or consult a collegue..

well i'm not a doctor yet..still a med student..well about that..when i was changing my dressing daily at the surgical unit..the people who did the dressing change was an intern who happened to be my senior in medicine posting last year..then i wondered that if an intern can do dressing change why can't i do it myself?? after all it is my wound..i could practice it on myself..

so..from that day on..i bought all the stuffs needed for dressing change..sterile gauze..betadine...normal saline..tape..

at first i was scared to do it myself..its like torturing yourself..the pain was unbearable..but i had to do it..if not how will the wound heal?? now i've been doing dressing on the wound myself for a week..and still changing the dressing daily..it is the time of the day i dread most..its painful but i can manage..

the wound has not yet healed..still bleeding here and there..

one simple burn which was supposed to heal a long time ago..due to my own negligence has now become infected and then treated takes much longer time to heal..

okay no more wound stories next time!
