my name is??

whats with the name?? so much confusion has happened with names..

with my family i am known as "nur" or rather pronounced as "NO"..kak no among my younger cousins..

when i was in us during my childhood time i only knew my name as nur abrahim..never knew my middle name since it was difficult to pronounce..

then when i started primary school..everyone was so young and innocent..they called me by my middle name "khairiyah"..no nicknames..nothing..full meaningful name..

then when i started my teen years in tkc..nicknames were popular..nearly everyone's name was partially or totally changed..like for me it totally changed..don't ask me how..even i can't remember how it changed to "kennok"..in short people sometimes call me "kenn"..my parents really hate that name..

then as i started my a-level days..the name stuck with me since my long time friend was in the same course..and even stayed the same till i finished my mbbs..

now in my internship course..i refer myself to the profs, PGs and my co-interns as "nur"..pronounced as the spelling goes..but i have a friend who has known me as kennok all these years finding it difficult to refer to my name as nur to others..i don't blame him..anyway i'm the only malay girl in that group so nur is the easiest..

but then one of my co-intern went for these medical camp asking a malaysian guy if he knew a nur..and that guy said no..of course he'll say no..since others have known me as kennok..what a confusion..

my parents have told me that when i start working use my real name..don't use the nickname..if i work in a place where no one knows me then it'll be fine..but since i have'nt used my real name for a long time it feels awkward..it feels official..

but thats my name..have to start using it..my parents gave me a name which is meaningful..light of goodness..
