1st day as an intern

yesterday was my 1st day as an intern in ortho..what are the odds??one of the field i plan to continue my studies in is my first posting..hmm..is this a sign??but as they say ortho is dominated by men..women don't stand a chance..but we'll see..

well yesterday was the 1st day..i had nothing to do and left at 1pm..i was sitting there studying ortho..i covered a lot.

but today was the 1st day i really felt like an intern..running up and down the hospital carrying files here and there..copying patient's hospital number..but no doctoring..

hmph..i was busy deciphering the doctors handwriting so that i can type the discharge summary..yup..from 9am till 4.30pm i was doing that..so basically i'm a typist or a clerk or whatever u wanna call it..

what i learnt today was :

1. how to use the hospital computer to find lab reports and type in discharge summary
2. how to print using the hospital computer
3. which computer is better to type on (the keyboard is ancient its like typing on a stone..it won't move unless u press it hard)

maybe its just the beginning..i'll see some action soon..now i know how it feels to work..i did'nt even realize it was time to go till the doctor told me to go home..heh..how fast time flies when u're doing something..

my fellow intern who has been there much longer told me to fill in this sheet..i have to sign it daily till the end of the month..no..it's not the attendance book..

it's the record so that u'll get paid by the end of the month..and the amount is
Rs 1500 equivalent to around RM 150..
REALLY??

so thats the story of my new life..btw i'm only allowed 2 days leave for each posting..no more sunday at home..sunday will be spent in camps..so i'll see less of my friends..if we're lucky and leave at the same time we can hang out..but usually everyone is busy with their own posting..
