radiation

1 more week for ortho posting..i'm kinda liking it..no worries..i'll be having another 15days of posting next year..

well anyway..today was ot..and i thought i was early but it started earlier..so basically i was late..

today i became a co-technician..we had ot using the C-arm image intensifier..or in other words..we were exposed to loads and loads of radiation..me and the technician shot around 120 images..eventhough we used the lead jacket..no one knows what will happen in the future..

no wonder not many women are in this field..because most of the surgeries in ortho depends on this machine..not only strength is needed but there comes a time in a women's life where they want to get pregnant..and exposure to radiation is bad for the baby..especially in the 1st trimester..

but i still like ortho..its like becoming a carpenter..instead of drilling or hammering nail on woods, we use bones..as they all say ortho is 80% common sense and 20% anatomy..
