new experience

it's been sometime since i updated my blog..

now i'm posted in anaesthesia..yup..when i hear anaesthesia immediately i think it's boring..to much pharmac..no action..

but since i've been posted here for a week under the HOD..it changed my point of view on anaesthesia..never thought that it would change my mind..

with a cool senior prof..he gave us hands on experience..even the junior pg's was not given any chance..under his guidance i gave 2 spinal and did 3 intubation..it was cool..

for the spinal..the 1st time my spinal needle went thru upto the bone..then when he pulled it out a little, blood came out followed by the CSF..almost successful

2nd time, spinal needle went in, then when i pulled out the stillete CSF came out..i was so happy!!yay...

intubation is much easier on a patient who is already under..no struggling..vocal cords are relaxed..in emergency situation thats a different story..

anaesthetist are like pilot..they are the one that put the patient to sleep to allow a painless and successful surgery for both the patient and the surgeon..without them no surgery can be done..

the sad part is..i can draw CSF for now..but i still can't draw blood..needle has gone in the vein but no blood came out..but when i pull the syringe out..blood oozes out.. now where ever i go..i feel like a vampire..always looking at people's vein..eager to draw blood..i hope i can do it soon..
